Providence Moving Film Fest or PMFF is an online film festival for amateur and independent film makers.  The idea is to create a quality venue for amateur and indy  artists and craftsmen to garner attention for their work.  

To keep things easy and familiar Film Makers upload their videos to one of several online video communities like YouTube, or Vimeo, or even their own FLV hosting.  They then submit those entries to PMFF by registering, paying a nominal fee and creating what's called an Article about their entry.

An Article is a simple web document, created online by Film Makers (no web programming  experience necessary) containing a brief description, a simple embedded link, and a Category selection.

Film Makers  promote and market their own entries via social networks like Facebook, or Twitter... or any means they so desire hoping to drive viewers to their entry.

Why?  Because public viewers  watch and then rate the entries.  The ratings are then used to narrow the field to the best entries in each Category.

The five highest rated films in each category (i.e. Comedy, Drama, etc...) become the nominees and will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals who will determine winners of the Annual PMFF Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards.
